Volunteering your time can make a huge difference in a young person’s life as well as your own. Sign up to volunteer to make an impact that really counts — coaching a youth sports team, mentoring a teen after school, providing support for a family who needs you, or helping run an art project. You can make a difference.

Who can volunteer?

Volunteers must be 18 years. If you are between the ages of 14 and 18 and wish to volunteer, you can help at our Clubs through our Leadership in Training program.

What can I do?

Each Club offers volunteer positions in the following departments:

  • Character and Leadership Development
  • The Arts
  • Sports, Fitness, and Recreation*
  • Education and Career Development
  • Healthy Life Skills

To learn more about specific opportunities and availability, please contact the Club of your choice before applying. We will do our best to connect you with an opportunity that will match your availability, skills, and interests.

Special volunteer opportunities

Google CS First

Want empower youth to create with technology? Become a Google CS First volunteer at one of our Clubs this summer! CS First is a free, volunteer run computer science program for youth. Google provides the materials, and you teach it to Club members. No computer science background required.

How do I apply?

Interested in becoming a volunteer? Please email Tonya Peshel at tpeshel@bgcportland.org to express your interest and obtain a link to our online application.

Please understand that it may take 1-2 weeks to completely process volunteers through our system.
