Youth & Family Supports
Our Youth & Family Supports are the wraparound services that make Life & Career Readiness possible for our Club members. By removing barriers at home and in the Club, we help young people fully engage in our four focus areas STEAM, Sport & Play, Financial Empowerment, and Career Exploration–so they can fully prepare themselves to become Future Ready.
How we support Club families:
- Dedicated staff advocates: partner with families and Club teams to coordinate supports and celebrate progress.
- Daily essentials at the Club: nutritious meals and homework help–creating a stable foundation for learning.
- Well-being & behavior supports: social-emotional coaching and behavior planning that help youth build resilience and thrive in school and life.
- Resource navigation: confidential assistance connecting families to housing, food, medical and mental health care, clothing, and other essential community services.
- Family learning: workshops and small groups for parents/caregivers and children that reinforce skills at home and in the Club.
Our approach is evidence-based, trauma-informed, and culturally responsive, designed to strengthen protective factors for youth and families from all backgrounds. When essential needs are met and support is coordinated, Club members can focus on discovering their interests, building essential skills, and taking the next step toward college, careers, and great futures.

Available at every Boys & Girls Club of Portland Metropolitan Area site.
Trillium Family Services therapists are currently seeing members and families at our Blazers, Rowe, Alder Creek, Margaret Scott, and Lot Whitcomb Clubs. They hope to soon hold appointments at all Club locations, but in the meantime Youth & Family Services Managers may write referrals for services.
Trillium Family Services accepts Oregon Health Plan, and may be able to consult families who do not have insurance that covers counseling on a case-by-case basis.
