Career Exploration

Young people thrive when they’re granted opportunities to explore possibilities and imagine themselves in future careers. Our Career Exploration programs give Club Members meaningful opportunities to discover what inspires them, to build their confidence, and to help them prepare for life beyond high school.

Starting in the elementary grades, Club Members take part in field trips to local companies and businesses, where they meet career leaders, professionals and entrepreneurs, so they can actively learn about careers across industries like technology, healthcare, clean energy, and the arts. These early experiences spark their curiosity and help them imagine themselves in future careers.

We also bring guest speakers from a wide range of companies and businesses into our Clubs. These leaders often reflect the diverse backgrounds and lived experiences of the youth we serve — showing our Club Members real-life examples of life and career success who they can relate to. By seeing role models who look like them and have walked similar paths, Club Members begin to believe that those careers are possible for their own future.

As they age up into middle and high school, we engage them in college campus tours, giving them a firsthand look at degree programs and helping them connect education to the career paths they’ve been exploring through the Clubs. At the high school level, teens also move from exploration to real-world application, as they participate in paid first-job experiences and industry focused internships, where they can earn money, build résumés, gain hands-on skills, and start charting their next steps — whether that’s college, technical training, or directly entering the workforce.

We help our Club Members start building social capital and a professional network before they even graduate high school — giving them a head start toward success in any career they choose.

Our goal is to ensure that every young person in our Clubs can both see a future full of possibilities, and access the resources, connections and experiences they need to overcome any barrier to their success as future innovators and career leaders.
