Inukai Family Boys & Girls Club plan new Teen Center with Lowe’s

BGCP receives $50,000 Lowe’s grant to help build capacity for teen populations in Hillsboro

Boys & Girls Clubs of Portland’s Inukai Family Club will begin construction on a brand new teen center this winter, thanks to a $50,000 grant from Lowe’s as a part of the Renovation Across the Nation Initiative. The grant, which was awarded to 50 Clubs around the country, will provide funding and volunteer support to complete renovations for one project in each state. The Inukai Family Boys & Girls Club was chosen in the state of Oregon to revamp their teen space.

The project is slated to be complete early January, will be led by local Lowe’s Heroes in conjunction with Inukai Club members and will provide teens with a space of their own.

As membership at the Inukai Family Club continues to soar, the need to create capacity for teens and younger members increases. Lowe’s support is helping the Inukai Family Club make critical improvements to ensure the Club remains a safe and inviting place for Hillsboro’s youth who need them most.

Visuals and opportunities include:

  • Complete remodel and construction of existing classroom spaces
  • Furniture
  • Brand new mural
  • Equipment

Keep an eye out for progress this holiday season!
